Our Heritage
Founded in Mumbai's textile district and built over thirty years, Napoleon Textile Company stands at the meeting point of design and manufacturing. We understand the weight a label carries — the promises it makes, the trust it earns. That understanding shapes every metre of fabric we produce.
We work with fashion brands, private labels, and resellers across twelve countries — not as a supplier, but as a partner who takes their craft as seriously as they do. The relationship comes first. The fabric follows.
Thirty years in this trade has taught us that the finest thing a fabric company can produce is not a collection — it is a reputation. Every metre we weave is a quiet commitment to the label it will carry.

Our Origin
Rooted in a
city woven from
culture & craft.
Mumbai has been India's creative and commercial heartbeat for centuries — a city where ancient trade routes, diverse cultures, and a relentless spirit of craft converge. Napoleon Textile Company is a product of this energy: a place where tradition is not preserved behind glass, but lived in every thread we weave.
What Defines Us
Every collection begins as a point of view — pattern, hand, drape — before a single thread is sourced. We design for the brands and buyers who recognise the difference between fabric made to a price and fabric made with purpose.
Quality is not a promise here — it is a consequence of how we work. From yarn selection to finishing, every decision is made with the end wearer in mind. Defect rates under 0.2%. No shortcuts, at any scale.
Fashion labels, private labels, and resellers across twelve countries trust us season after season. We take that trust seriously — understanding what each partner needs and showing up for them, consistently.
Our Journey
1995
Kalbadevi · Est. 1995
Mr. Sanjeev Rathod establishes Napoleon Textile Company in Mumbai's Kalbadevi — with one conviction: fabric should be designed, not merely manufactured. A family enterprise rooted in craft from day one.
Est. 1995 · Kalbadevi, MumbaiJust two years after founding, Napoleon's quality earns its first international recognition. A consignment ships to Sri Lanka — the seed of what would grow into a 12-country export network spanning three continents.

Stripe Master · 2005
Napoleon becomes India's go-to name for poly-cotton blended stripe shirting. Deep mastery of yarn ratio, weave construction, and stripe pitch earns preferred-supplier status with India's largest garment exporters.
No. 1 PC Stripe Supplier · IndiaGlobal buyers begin demanding more natural, breathable fabric. Napoleon pivots the core range toward cotton-rich constructions early. Hand-feel improves, repeat orders multiply, and the brand's quality reputation takes a decisive step forward.

Napoleon enters the world of printed fabrics — geometric, floral, and abstract motifs for smart-casual and resort shirting. The move unlocks an entirely new buyer category and a design-forward identity for the company's commercial range.
Screen & Digital Prints AddedA defining commitment: full pivot to 100% cotton yarn-dyed shirting. Seasonal design collections, bespoke colour palettes, and reactive dyeing become the core of Napoleon's identity. Synthetic blends step aside — for good.

What Our Partners Say
Our Craft
Seven steps, each deliberate. From trend intelligence to finished fabric — the same rigour, every season.
Research
Research New Bases
Every season begins with research — global runway trends, buyer feedback, and fibre market intelligence combine to identify the next generation of base fabrics.
Concept
Curating Mood Boards
Colour, texture, weight, and pattern are assembled into seasonal mood boards before any fabric is made. The collection has a point of view first.
Materials
Quality Yarn Sourcing
Indian cotton forms the core of most of our sourcing — selected for its clean spinning characteristics and fine staple. We also work with Australian cotton for superior softness, and bring in select Egyptian cotton blends where the construction calls for it. The right fibre is chosen per fabric, not per formula.
Weaving
Mill Partnership
We work with established weaving mills, providing precise specifications for every fabric — thread count, weave structure, yarn count, and construction. Our merchandising team liaises directly with mill partners to ensure each production run is executed to our design intent, metre by metre.
Processing
Dyeing & Finishing
Dyeing, mercerisation, sanforising, and finishing are carried out by trusted processing partners working to our written specifications. Our team oversees colour standards, shrinkage parameters, and finish requirements — validating each lot before it is cleared for the next stage.
Quality
In-House Inspection
Every roll is physically inspected by our in-house quality team using dedicated checking machines. We apply the 4-Point System across every piece — only fabric that clears our standard is passed for packing and dispatch. Defect rates held below 0.2%.
Intelligence
Season Data Compilation
Every order, defect, and buyer response is catalogued. This intelligence feeds directly back into next season's design brief — a continuous loop of refinement.
